I learnt many things, learnt more about myself, learnt about my leadership style, learnt about how to control more than 550 people as I was in charge of organising the events for the last day. Although I made many mistakes, the planning and execution of my two events- War Games and Wet Games was certainly my biggest task I had to undertake in a long time. Haha, but most importantly, I will certainly remember the times with my friends, with my fellow batchmates, with my juniors. The planning and briefings for the camp, the running around during the day to ensure the Sec 1s are safe, debriefing sessions till 3am, the clearing up till almost 9-10pm everyday are certainly the memories I will take back. 2010 all the way, make it a year worth REMEMBERING!(:
Haha, anw, these holidays have been great!
1. Thailand OIP trip(:
2. Newzealand Scouts trip(:
3. Moor House Camp--- Haha, made a very good new friend in Sean Cham! Woots:D
4. PSL Camp--- Haha, was with Alex most of the time so I got to know him a little better as well:D
It's great to make new friends...(:
When you take a chance
...
This could be the start
Of something new
It feels so right
To be here with you ..oh
And now ... looking in your eyes
I feel in my heart
The start of something new"
High School Musical - Start Of Something New
It's when you take chances, try out something new that something really really great happens!(:
My 2 best memories this year thus far was by chance/by random. For both events, I was not scheduled to go for it, but due to someone backing out of the event and me asking my teacher by chance resulted in my TWO BEST MEMORIES OF THE YEAR!!!(: What were the 2 events?(: First, MGS Symposium and secondly, RI-MWITS OIP trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really really loved the Oip trip to Thailand. I not only made new friends, learnt about Thai culture; I also learnt about myself. I learnt that I was able to sing which was totally new cos I sang to my friends and at the Old Folks Home! The experience during the homestay from the homecooked food to us shopping for almost 10 hours to taking photos for 4 hours and finally, building sandcastles at the Pattaya Beach was certainly the best experience I had in a long long time. I can't imagine what I would be losing out on if I hadn't appealed to Miss Chang and not went on this trip! I feel so happy whenever I think about what happens. How I wish I could go back in time and experience everything again(: My poem (it's a little raw, cos it's my first time writing a poem in a long time)...
Last time
The date is 18 November 2009.The time is 12 noon.
There’s only 30 minutes left,
Before our departure from this lovely school,
Which hold many memories for the past 10 days.
It’s the last time I’m seeing a Thai flag.
It’s the last time I’m seeing such a bumpy basketball court.
It’s the last time watching Thai television while eating.
It’s the last time seeing students with such long skirts.
As I enjoy my meal, I think.
It’s the last time buying food using food coupons.
It’s the last time drinking water from a metal cup.
It’s the last time eating “a-roi” Thai food.
As I rush to meet Tuey for the last time, I think.
It’s the last time I’m seeing the gym, the field and the dormitory.
It’s the last time I’m seeing colourful buses adorned with pictures.
It’s the last time I’m walking through the carpark with my best friend, Mew.
But more importantly, as I share a meal with my friends, I think.
It’s the last time I’m eating a-roi Thai food with my friends.
It’s the last time we’re helping each other get water.
It’s the last time I’m seeing such an AWESOME, FRIENDLY bunch of friends.
Finally, my one and only wish to end the trip,
Is for us to keep in contact and remain good friends,
And for everyone, if possible,
To meet again and reminisce the good times.
Explanation: This poem was my final poem written during the trip on 18 November 2009. It was the final time seeing our friends as we were leaving the school in 30 minutes time. As my friends were taking last minute photographs, I sat down to do one final bit of reflection before the memory leaves my head. I wanted to write everything I’ll probably miss about the school, from the physical aspect of the school to the emotional aspect of the friends I’ve made. I hope to be able to look back in future and reminisce the various aspects during the trip.
Haha, in the morning I had HSSRP presentation and there were 6 rooms with 6 presentations in each room. After the first round of selection, our group got into the second round where only 9 groups out of 36 were selected:D We were the 5th group to present. It was quite intimidating i think cos 6 were from rgs, 1 from nanyang and 2 from ri...
Well, I think we did alright lar. And my day hasn't ended yet!!! Prefect's camp up next. And booking game was a whole lot of fun cos the elected prefects got the chance to play and teach at the same time. Haha, joshua ling was real fun in my room where we were breaking all the rules and the Newly Elected Prefects had to come and scold us.
After booking game, we had departmental games and my most memorable incident was when I scored a goal to pull us back to 2-3. Danish converted a last minute penalty which meant we drew with the NEPs for the first time in history cos the EPs usually get owned(: Haha, Fu kai was real fun cos we were running on the right wing terrorising the opponent's defence I hope(:
Finally, it was all over:( And we sang lots and lots of stuff with Ben and Josh sitting beside me:D Haha, after that, Ern Xu and I continued with soccer:D Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAUN YEO!!!(:
Todae was totally unexpected... I was supposed to say pledge in front of the whole school during morning assembly but ended up doing a whole new task:p
At 7.20am, 5 mins before assembly, our prefect master said that we should raise the house flags as well, thus, me and jeremy went to take the flags...
Back at Raffles Square with flags at 7.23pm... Only 3 house captains were there with the Moor and Hullett Captain absent. Note: Our assembly is national anthem with Singapore and school flag raised, announcements and finally the school anthem with the house flags...
So I put the Moor flag on the string and as I was the quickest, I went to put the Hullett flag on the string as well. But as I was doing, the sound of "sadiya!" came to my ears and so I quickly tried tying the knot but to no avail. But I managed to rush it before the national anthem was played but either way, it was quite weird as I was from Moor but throughout the national anthem and pledge, I was in front of the Hullett flag-.-
Moor--- well, what can i say? Haha, but impt thing is that we tried our best already and next year, we can only improve:D We can't get worse, so we'll only get better. Moor House Rising!!!!!:DDDD
Forgetful me--- I can't believe how forgetful i am... Firstly, didn't bring the Leadership stuff for first period todae so had to rush up to get stuff. And I bought a prefect badge todae and now i think i forgot where it is already. So i wasted $3.50... Hope i'll be less forgetful:D
That's my hope for next year, a whole new world filled with new hopes! :D
Every year means growing 1 year older and a new start. Besides my piano exam, I hope that MOOR under Sheng Siong and I will do well and really build that kind of family spirit we want to achieve and do well while having fun:D Haha, and finally, of course, we'll have to do well in our studies especially HCL O-levelss.....
Haha, that's my aspirations for next year, but for now, it's just mugging for EOYs and settling the details of LDP... Haha, hope my group will choose an interesting CIP project to do and will grow together and have fun together!!!
Haha, todae was the holympics which is basically house day with all the funny events such as infocomm, chess, sports, aquathalon, science quiz, etc... Haha, I didn't play basketball for my house this year cos i was put as cheerleading leader. Haha, so my job was to go arnd and rally the MOORIANS to cheer! Haha, we were the best cheerleading house i think, with all the RED pails and RED hangers ready to make noise!(:
Haha, it was quite fun and everything culminated in the student-teacher telematch. As usual, the other exco members went to participate in it and left me all alone to lead MOOR in the cheers again. Haha, shouted until my voice is hoarse now:D But it was fun lar, when you're enthusiastic, everything's fun:DD
Haha, got to go and learn the various periods to prepare for my music exam now:D It's on Tuesday and I'm pretty nervous(:
To start off, Hui Chiang and I went to the common pantry to cook nuggets and seaweed chicken for our teachers' day class party. Haha, never imagined myself to wake up at 5am to cook something for our teachers and classmates :D
At 6 o'clock, rushed for dinner at the dining hall and by 6.15 I was all set in position awaiting the arrival of the teachers' at the carpark. As it was a rainy day, I worked with Jeremy in the ushering of the teachers. I was carrying the umbrella while he was offering the roses. So here was our moderus operandi, a teacher arrives, we greet them, help them hold the umbrella and make sure they don't get wet by the rain(: Haha, it was quite interesting and fun lar. My english teacher also parked at that carpark as well!:D
At around 7.40am, rush to the main atrium to serve the teacher's their breakfast. Human Resource Dept was in charge of it so essentially, we were the waiters for the buffet breakfast spread and I was serving hotcakes!:D Haha, it was quite popular I suppose(:
At 8.20am, rush back to my class to prepare for my class party. The elaborate plan my class monitor came up was indeed novel and we gave our teachers a SUPRISE! Haha, never knew boys can be so suprising and touching right?(: (haha, but some of my classmates were lamenting that they were in the same position for around 1 hour waiting for the teacher:p At least i was serving hotcakes and ushering:D)
At 9am, was the concert and it was quite a good event lar:D The spinning of the plates were quite funny.
At 10am, event ended, went back to boarding to pack my stuff.
At 11am, played basketball.
At 12pm, SCOUTS!!! Haha, todae was our first class pioneering so we were building a tower. Helped tie many many square lashes and knots, it was quite good ok.
At 3pm, dad came and rushed back home for piano at 4...
4-5.30pm- PIANO LESSON:D
5.30-7pm- SLEEP. Absolutely tired from the exhausting day of running, pioneering, basketball, piano... My body's aching and crying for rest!
7-8pm- Eating dinner
8-10- Doing history assignment
10-10.30- Blogging
10.30-unknown time- FINISH MY HISTORY ASSIGNMENT!!!!:DDD
ENTHUSIASM AND A LOVE FOR LIFE IS WHAT D
Day of firsts:
1. Dancing---OMG, I was part of the 18 people in my group dancing at the finale, although I forgot most of the dance steps, it was nonetheless still very fun:D
2. Going up on stage---OMG, I actl went up on stage to represent my group for some competition. So there was like 7 of us from the 7 big groups and I was one of them. Haha, but I did well I THINK(: Managed to win that small competition:D
3. Not really first but our group won 4th placing for the amazing race(:

12. Haha, livejournalling now.
Sorry, if my post is a little boring, I'm really reallly very tired now. After coming home, I practised my piano, had a bath, did my homework and finally had a little time to do journalling(:
BTW, I passed my Piano Grade 8 Prelims!!!(: Got exactly 100 marks. Hoping for the best during my real exam(:
Haha, after that during gep was also quite fun lar, but i guess the first 3 years were most fun!(:
Haha, i suppose preschool would be even more fun but i can't really rmber that period of time. It's too vague:p
Haha, I was thinking about a Primary 3F reunion. So cool right?! But i doubt i can get hold of a lot of them...

Lol, it's going to be very difficult to find them and i think meeting all of them again is a distant memory far far away which is not ever ever ever possible. It's just crazy to think that we'll meet again... It'll be locked away in my repository of memories forever...
Yeah, but the invest was not too bad lar and the prefects danced the theme song of Slumdog Millionaire quite well... The hall was quite empty cos it was an internal event. Besides us, there was only 1 more group of guests prefects cos they actl called all the schools to cancel it but we didn't receive the message.
Ummm... But in the end, they still allowed us to watch the show and brought us on a school tour as well... Haha, the only thing me and Danish forgot to do was to thank our ushers... Thanks to Joanne and her junior for bringing us arnd the school, jianmin ,syasya and Danish for giving me a lot to laugh and the Temasek JC ppl who were former TKGS seniors (denise, yi zhen and 1 more person) for showing us arnd as well:DDD Haha, then met 2 of my tao nan frens as well although i oso forgot their names... Sigh, i just can't seem to remember names....
Haha, the gift which we got from the PB... Btw, their theme is Bridges- Begin, Belong, Believe...There's a smudge on the Investiture 2009 though...

3 more people for 3000m
200m steeplechase is already max:D
2 more people for 100m hurdles
1 more person for long jump
4 more people for high jump:( Sigh, this one is really hard, cos many ppl can't meet the qualifying mark.
1 more person for triple jump
2 more for shotput and 1 more each for discus and javelin:D
Haha, hope MOOR will be able to pull out from last place(for track) this year:D MOOR FTW!(:
Haha, well, just wanted to say that I hope that the Singapore Sports Council can allocate schools to bring down students to watch the games and cheer our boys. Although I'm not an athlete, I know how much difference it makes when the crowd is cheering you on and edging you on. Ytd, barely 1/4 the Jalan Besar Stadium was filled.
Therefore, if we can allocate students from the various schools down and bring down cheerleaders to lead the schools in the Kallang Roar and just a simple Let's go Singapore Let's Go, I bet our boys will be able to win Thailand and China in their upcoming Round 2 matches and reach the semi-finals(:
Shall talk about my group members:
Me and Dylan: FACILITATORS!!!
Anty and Gerald: My juniors...
Shaun CHOO: Wouldn't have been as fun without you(: Haha, thanks for helping me with my facilitating work:DDD
Jia Le: Our awesome flag drawer:D Very quiet but very fun and serious. Always with her handy book drawing stuff(: Evangeline: My Tao Nan sec 2 junior. Dunno whether she recognises me but i know she's from tao nan...
Juliet: Our awesome narrator... Although out skit was quite fail, she narrated very well(:
Charmaine: The most sporty of the lot:D Haha, when we played captain's ball, she was very very involved and helped us score a few points(: Loved our wonderful passing(:
VIOLET LEE!!!: Haha, our wonderful JC1 senior. Me and her hit it off immediately during the wacko game. I was trying to get her while she was trying to get me... Haha, and I know the reason! We're both from MOOR... And she's the MT vice chair... Woah, she's one very talkative yet very interesting and funny person!!! haha, you're awesome!
Fang Yi: Another of our seniors... She's a little quiet, much quieter than Violet Lee but a nice person nonetheless:D Btw, she's from MT too!!!:DDD
Jerome: Haha, wanted us to go for some group dinner but in the end, couldn't go cos my parents were already here... Sorry.... Anw, another of my seniors. He's very very very enthusiastic!!!:D
Tang Huiyao: Well, he's a splitting image of Matthais. One very very good comedian and very good at math stuff too! We won the intellectual challenge cos of him:D Haha, besides Violet, he's another kai xin guo of our group!!! Very cheery and happy(: The only one among the rest who i managed to get his hotmail.
And 1 more RJC guy whom i forgot what was his name... But another cheery guy. To put it simply, our whole group rocks and everyone's very cheery especially the RJC ppl:D
Funny incident 1: Lol, it was quite funny.Actl, at the end, no one wanted the flag so i gave it back to the IC... After boarding my father's car at the raja block, i suddenly forgot my bottle... Then I ran back to the hall. In that time, i dunno but i suddenly decided to take the flag as well cos it was so nice and we spent quite a long time drawing it... So i took it back from the ICs and now, the flag is safely kept in my house.. ..
My only regret and always i regret when i play sports is that i nvr control myself. If i could go back in time, i wish i would pass more and involve more ppl cos the game was like a game between a few of us... Sigh....
Anw, todae was awesome!!!!!!!!:DDDDDDDD
